Sherry is the founding director of Alliance Manchester Business School’s China Centre (established in 2008 in Shanghai) which was renamed to the University of Manchester China Centre in September 2016. She manages China business development, alumni relations and strategic partnerships in the region, leading China team developed the Centre to the 2nd largest overseas Centre and building an outstanding brand image and reputation for AMBS and UoM which has been recognized in several China’s top national awards. Prior to joining the University of Manchester, sherry worked for a leading institution City of London. Her early career in Macau/Shenzhen media enabled her extensive links with business elites, media and government.
Sherry was appointed as an envoy to the City of Manchester in 2013 at the house of Lords and awarded ‘Pilot of Chinese business education’ in 2016 by China State Council information office . She hold Masters’ degrees in Contemporary Chinese and English literature as well as EMBA degree from the University of Manchester. She is the author of overseas Chinese corporate reputation report (2014,2015), chief editor of Future Visual Diary (2017). She sits on the board of the British Chamber of Commerce Shanghai and is vice chair of the education focus group and Manchester Working Group. She is also the Executive Council Member of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA).
David has nine years business experience in Shanghai leads Deloitte's China International Business Development Group. David formerly led UKTI’s Investment teams across China and was a senior British Consul in Shanghai and Commercial Director for UKTI at Shanghai World Expo. In his time in Shanghai, David has supported over 200 Chinese companies investing in the UK and advised UK companies in China from start-ups to FTSE100. David is also Chairman of the Manchester – China business forum, which was established by George Osborne in 2013. David was awarded the MBE for services to UK business interests with China.
A graduate of the University of Manchester (MSc Marketing, BA Economics), Lydia began her career in the oil industry with Petroineos in London. Now the President of Manjun Capital, her current interests lie in capital investment and project management across various sectors of China’s economy, including finance, law, power intelligence and media. Lydia also serves as a board member and shareholder at Jiuzhou Industrial Holdings Group, President of Beijing Yi Fang Commercial Factoring, and General Manager of Dongyi Yuanjun Shuhua Culture Co.
George Liu, President of Shanghai Silky Elite Company Ltd. He run silk accessories business for20 years and traveled morethan50 countries in the past 20 years. He is expert at silk accessories in the world. Now he founded the Silky Elite club in Shanghai which is famous at fashion and cultural line in China. He is devoted to spread Chinese cultural by silk accessories and the silky Elite club. George graduated from Washington-University Onlin Business chool EMBA programme.
